Job Title: Regional Chief Accountant (Accountant Manager)
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Day-to-Day Accounting Operations
- Collect, verify, and archive accounting source documents in accordance with internal policies.
- Record accounting transactions into the system (invoices, expenses, bank transactions, etc.) in compliance with VAS and IFRS standards.
- Perform bank reconciliations and monitor accounts payable.
- Manage general ledger, track fixed assets, process amortization and prepayment allocations.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly and quarterly closing activities.
2. Client Project Accounting & Invoicing
- Review client invoices on time and in accordance with contract payment terms.
- Ensure consistent invoicing processes and standardized payment terms across markets.
- Oversee revenue recognition policies and ensure proper implementation across different jurisdictions.
3. Financial Reporting & Tax Compliance
- Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for legal entities in Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, and China. Ensure compliance with the holding company’s requirements in Hong Kong and local regulations in other countries within the group (with the advice from secretary/ tax partners).
- Liaise with independent auditors for all entities to complete group consolidation audit report.
- Prepare and review VAT, WHT, CIT and PIT filings across multiple jurisdictions within the group, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations in each country (with the support from secretary/ tax partners for the foreign entities).
- Co-work with 3rd party to prepare and maintain Transfer Pricing documentation in accordance with regulations.
- Liaise with tax authorities during audits or inspections.
4. Payroll & Union Accounting
- Record salaries, bonuses, social insurance, PIT, and other related accruals.
- Manage union-related accounting and ensure compliance with labor regulations.
5. Team Supervision & Cross-functional Collaboration
- Supervise and guide accountants in daily operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Collaborate with HR, Operations, and Business teams to maintain financial accuracy and completeness.
- Update internal policies, streamline procedures and provide relevant training to staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Auditing. Professional certifications such as ACCA or CPA are a plus.
- Chief Accountant Certification in Vietnam is required.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in accounting; regional or multinational experience is preferred.
- Solid knowledge of Vietnam Accounting Standards (VAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Proficiency in accounting and ERP systems (Odoo, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Fluency in English is required, particularly in financial reporting and correspondence.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and team leadership abilities.
